About City of Refuge House of Hope

Our mission is to provide a refuge (safe haven) for the wounded and the broken by being an example and demonstrating the Love of Christ and teaching God's word.

The City of Refuge House of Hope Church is an assembly of Holy Spirit born, through receiving Jesus Christ as our Lord and Savior, Spirit Filled, through being baptized in the Holy Spirit and Spirit Led, through allowing the Holy Spirit to lead us and guide us into all truth.

Deuteronomy 4:41-43
Verse Concepts Then Moses set apart three cities across the Jordan to the east, that a manslayer might flee there, who unintentionally slew his neighbor without having enmity toward him in time past; and by fleeing to one of these cities he might live: Bezer in the wilderness on the plateau for the Reubenites, and Ramoth in Gilead for the Gadites, and Golan in Bashan for the Manassites.

Deuteronomy 19:1-13
"When the LORD your God cuts off the nations, whose land the LORD your God gives you, and you dispossess them and settle in their cities and in their houses, you shall set aside three cities for yourself in the midst of your land, which the LORD your God gives you to possess. "You shall prepare the roads for yourself, and divide into three parts the territory of your land which the LORD your God will give you as a possession, so that any manslayer may flee there.

Joshua 20:2-9
"Speak to the sons of Israel, saying, 'Designate the cities of refuge, of which I spoke to you through Moses, that the manslayer who kills any person unintentionally, without premeditation, may flee there, and they shall become your refuge from the avenger of blood. 'He shall flee to one of these cities, and shall stand at the entrance of the gate of the city and state his case in the hearing of the elders of that city; and they shall take him into the city to them and give him a place, so that he may dwell among them

"The Lord also will be a refuge for the oppressed, a refuge in times of trouble" (Psalm 9:9).

Our Beliefs

City of Refuge House of Hope is a international church based in Kannapolis, NC that teaches about the True Light, Jesus, who has already overcome every circumstance of life on the cross at Calvary.

We also believe and teach:

  • The Scriptures of the Old and New Testaments are the final authority for all matters of faith and conduct.
  • We believe in the deity of Jesus Christ, the only begotten son of God, both God and Man, and that the only way to God the Father is through Jesus Christ.
  • We believe in the salvation of sinners by grace, through repentance and faith in the perfect and sufficient work of Jesus at the cross of Calvary.
  • We believe in the Spirit-filled life which includes growing in the grace of God; being perfected as well as being led by the Holy Spirit.
  • We believe in the operation of the gifts of the Holy Spirit as explained in 1 Corinthians.
  • We believe in the priesthood of the believers to offer spiritual sacrifices and to pray for, lay hands on, and directly minister to the needs of others.

Let's Work Together!

God has opened a door for us to serve, minister and share the Gospel of Christ in another country. We are very humbled by the opportunity to be used by God in this way . On July 23– August 6- 2022. We will be going into Kenya (East Africa).

We will be teaching and preaching throughout various tribes our first week. The last week we will be building four houses in four days for those the elders select. We are very excited about this mission trip to help others come to a saving knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ.

Kenya House of Hope Mission Trip Candra Bethea

There are many opportunities to contribute, communicate, and connect with people at City of Refuge House of Hope who care about you. We encourage all our members to participate in these one or more of these ministries!

  • Bible Study: Adults and children: Knowledge fo the Word helps us know God better and equips us to effectively serve the the Lord in our homes, work, community and the world.
  • Prayer Ministry: Prayer is simply communication with God. Prayer is self-revealing, illuminating, healing and empowering. Through prayer, we can pour out our souls to a heavenly Father who loves us. Through prayer, we have the opportunity to hear the voice of God speaking directly to us spirit to spirit.
  • Community evangelism: Outreach ministry events and activities to bless the community and build trust and establishing relationships are the master key to open up doors of opportunity to bring the Gospel into the community.

For Christ’s love compels us, because we are convinced that one died for all, and therefore all died. And he died for all, that those who live should no longer live for themselves but for him who died for them and was raised again. 2 Corinthians 5:14-15
