Our mission is to provide a refuge (safe haven) for the wounded and the broken by being an example and demonstrating the Love of Christ and teaching God's word.
The City of Refuge House of Hope Church is an assembly of Holy Spirit born, through receiving Jesus Christ as our Lord and Savior, Spirit Filled, through being baptized in the Holy Spirit and Spirit Led, through allowing the Holy Spirit to lead us and guide us into all truth.
Deuteronomy 4:41-43
Verse Concepts Then Moses set apart three cities across the Jordan to the east, that a manslayer might flee there, who unintentionally slew his neighbor without having enmity toward him in time past; and by fleeing to one of these cities he might live: Bezer in the wilderness on the plateau for the Reubenites, and Ramoth in Gilead for the Gadites, and Golan in Bashan for the Manassites.
Deuteronomy 19:1-13
"When the LORD your God cuts off the nations, whose land the LORD your God gives you, and you dispossess them and settle in their cities and in their houses, you shall set aside three cities for yourself in the midst of your land, which the LORD your God gives you to possess. "You shall prepare the roads for yourself, and divide into three parts the territory of your land which the LORD your God will give you as a possession, so that any manslayer may flee there.
Joshua 20:2-9
"Speak to the sons of Israel, saying, 'Designate the cities of refuge, of which I spoke to you through Moses, that the manslayer who kills any person unintentionally, without premeditation, may flee there, and they shall become your refuge from the avenger of blood. 'He shall flee to one of these cities, and shall stand at the entrance of the gate of the city and state his case in the hearing of the elders of that city; and they shall take him into the city to them and give him a place, so that he may dwell among them
Dr. Candra Gayle Bethea, DDiv is a licensed and ordained minister of the Gospel. She is married to Allen Bethea and resides in Kannapolis, NC. Candra received Christ at the age of 9. She has been preaching the gospel for over 25 years, and has preached, taught and facilitated classes on prayer, spiritual gifts, praise and worship, across the United States. She is a graduate of ECPI University, with a degree in Computer technology.
She is a called missionary and church planter. She has planted 5 churches and co-founded 2 Christian private schools.
Candra's passion is to help edify the Body of Christ through individual and corporately through prayer, praise, worship, teaching, intercession and speaking prophetically as God give utterance.
Candra's favorite scripture is Psalms 42:1, As a deer pants for the water of the brook, so does my soul thirst for you, O God.
Her motto is: Whatever it is, whomever it is, don't let it bind you! Stay free!!

God has opened a door for us to serve, minister and share the Gospel of Christ in another country. We are very humbled by the opportunity to be used by God in this way . On July 23– August 6- 2022. We will be going into Kenya (East Africa).
We will be teaching and preaching throughout various tribes our first week. The last week we will be building four houses in four days for those the elders select. We are very excited about this mission trip to help others come to a saving knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ.
There are many opportunities to contribute, communicate, and connect with people at City of Refuge House of Hope who care about you. We encourage all our members to participate in these one or more of these ministries!
Dr. Bethea will be delivering the word at Tuesdays at 7:00 am EST (9:00 pm Pakistan Standard Time)
